A research aimed to study the inter-ethnic relations in the region, confidence level between nations, different groups and reasons of the problems in this field in the framework of project ''Development of Society and Civil Relations " PA supported by German Marshal Fund

 All the people as well as the Azerbaijanis are concerned about the events that recently taking place in the world especially in the region including post soviet states. On the one hand the terror acts in Turkey and European countries, intensification of the terrorists on the different orientation (radical religious, political and so on) on the other hand the fear of new annexations by Russia in CIS have covered the whole world.After Russia occupied a part of Crimea, the main issue in the focus is the Kremlin`s next target. The west failed to stop Russia and it increases the Moscow`s interest in this issue.In this case Kremlin`s next targets might be Moldova ( Transnistria as well as the Autonomous Republic of Gagauzia are eager to tend to Russia), Georgia ( Russia believes the issues on Abkhazia and South Ossetia are solved but it can create the new hotbeds to increase the pressure on Georgia) and Azerbaijan, even the Baltic states are not guaranteed from this thread.Attention driving main issue is that Russia has begun to use the other methods to realize its desires. In fact, though it was old ( i.e. this method was used during the world war II) Russia begins to apply it to new interpretation. This method resulted in the occupation of Crimea, thus made the Russian political circles be encouraged and it was decided to expand the activities in this direction.Thus the law on simplification of the rules for admission to citizenship of people of former soviet republics in Russia was adopted and the president of Russian federation signed this law. According to the amendment, those who are the native speakers, whose relatives are living in the territories of Russia, or who lived in the Russian Empire or USSR can be admitted to citizenship. For living in Russia permanently the persons who meet these requirements must renunciate the citizenship of their countries.We believe, at this moment this kinds of problems bother all the countries in the region , especially which were the part of USSR and then gained their independence. For several years the new idea is being promoted in Russia : the Russian borders cover where the Russian is spoken.
